Michael Wagner, executive chef for the Pearl Dublin

Michael Wagner, Executive Chef at The Pearl in Dublin, began his career with Cameron Mitchell Restaurants in 2013 when he started at Marcella’s in the Short North Arts District. Since then, he has worked for various Marcella’s and The Pearl locations. His interest in the restaurant and hospitality industry started at nine years old when he began cooking with his aunt in Florida one summer. He recalls standing on a milk crate cooking crab cakes on a flat top. After that night of excitement, he was hooked on cooking and continued to visit her every summer, where they would cook together.

A graduate of Columbus State Community College, Wagner’s greatest lesson in his professional career thus far has been that “Everyone knows how to do something that you don’t.” His advice he gives to those interested in pursuing a career in the restaurant and hospitality industry is “Don’t forget to save yourself some time outside of the kitchen.”

Wagner most looks forward to coaching and teaching future leaders and culinarians in his new role. In his free time, he enjoys gaming and spending time with his wife, Torrie, and his son, Wade.
